No one will read, but it was fun (enjoy)

I started out my career through dumb luck. As many Gen Z know the trials and tribulations of finding a job, that can blossom into a career, has been more than difficult. My friend had to pass on a job that was demanding too much of her time, and recommended me to the company to fill the position.
after a few interviews, and a few stressful phone calls to my father overanalyzing every word the hiring team said to me, I GOT THE JOB!
I was now a Customer Success Manager
(What the heck even is that?)

took my “expertise” from graduating with a digital advertising degree and immediately started using it to explain what a click and an impression are to clients. I was a god in their eyes.
My main focus was to explain reporting and manage campaigns to ensure they are completed successfully. Most of these campaigns were basic branding campaigns where I trafficked banner ads to our owned and operated digital local news journals, and then the occasional digital marketing product that would require more detail and attention on targeting, reporting, and optimizations.
Little did I know that my Moby Dick was fast approaching…

One day I came into work and saw a 70 page document sitting on my chair. I did what others would shy away from, and I skimmed through it so hard. I read every header, bullet point list, map, and graph in there.
What we were tasked with was submitting a marketing plan for an energy savings program in New Orleans. I was finally able to show my stuff and boy, did I deliver.
I put together a comprehensive marketing plan consisting of digital, traditional and outdoor marketing. These were all things our company had never done before. Somehow, we got it!

all of a sudden I was buying media, working with vendors, reporting project and media analytics updates with my company's largest client.
I was forced out of my comfort zone. now I was working on the Google Analytics transfer from UA to GA4 for the client, which had a massive mess to clean up and sort through in their UA to even figure out which account was actually tracking the website. I was buying thousands of dollars of media at a time.
I was doing all of this while also working my original duties with the local companies and helping sales reps secure more business for a local news journals.
(all of this was within 4 months of starting my first marketing job)

I was taking on more and more responsibilities, so I had to move some off my plate. Our department started to grow and I was given more time to focus on my white whale as we were looking to renew / compete for the larger contract the client sub contracts out.
The campaign wrapped up with a nice little bow and we were able to absolutely annihilate the KPIs the client gave to us. We even won an international award for the campaign.
This was just enough fuel for us to secure the much larger contract!
With this new contract I was growing so much with my company that I ended up altering the direction of a department I was not even a part of. We transformed our content creation studio into a full scale marketing agency with creative and media capabilities to service any need of our clients' marketing journey.
Now I have outgrown my previous role and have moved into a role more central to the success of this reformatted division of my company.

I am starting a new role as head of media for the marketing agency we developed from the content studio.
